The Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas are America’s best selling and popular hip-hop group. The group comprises of rappers, singers and multi-instrument artists. The current songwriting and vocalist members of this group are: William Adams, Stacy Ferguson, Jaime Gomez and Allan Pineda while instrumentalists of the group are: George Pajon, Jr. on Guitar; Tim Izo on Saxophone and Flute; Printz Board on Keys and Trumpet; and Keith Harris on Drums.

The group was formed in Los Angeles in 1995 and they released their debut album ‘Behind The Front’ in 1998. Their next album ‘Bridging the Gap’ was released in 2000. They gave their first major global hit in 2003.  This was the single “Where is the Love”, which topped more than ten global charts.

With the release of their most creative album “The E.N.D”, they established themselves as a global music icon. More than 11 million copies of this album were sold worldwide, outperforming their previous hit ‘Monkey business’. By then the group has already sold over 56 million records globally.

William Adams, popularly known as will.i.am, and Allan Pineda, more famous as apl.de.ap, are the two oldest and original members laying the foundation of the group. The duo used to perform together in the Los Angeles area as early as in 1988. At that time, both were the part Atban Klann group. Later the group was renamed as Black Eyed Peas. More members joined subsequently and the group became a leading hip-hop band entertaining millions with their soul-touching innovative music.

The Black Eyed Peas are always seen as innovators and their tremendous success has been often attributed to their innovation. Instead of following the contemporary music, the group believes in creating their own music. Their music seems to be a gradual evolution of sound. This has been made possible majorly because they had been new technologies with time. Thus, their music seems to be futuristic one and this makes them popular among the global audience.
